Celtic have confirmed Croatian defender Jozo Simunovic is in Italy to finalise a transfer to Serie A club Torino.

The fee is officially undisclosed but Sky sources understand it is in the region of £3m.

Simunovic moved to Parkhead a year ago from Dinamo Zagreb but has not played under Brendan Rodgers due to a knee injury.

He made just 11 appearances last season, with his campaign cut short by a knee ligament injury in January.
Celtic last week signed Costa Rica international right-back Cristian Gamboa from West Brom on a three-year contract.

Earlier in the transfer window, they brought in centre-back Kolo Toure following his release from Liverpool and he has become their first choice at the heart of defence.

Celtic have also recruited Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele, Dorus De Vries and Kristoffer Vassbakk Ajer during the summer transfer window.

Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic is a transfer target for Napoli, and their pursuit of him could depend on Chelsea's interest in Kalidou Koulibaly, a player for whom they bid £38m in July.
