The Niger Delta Avengers militant group has denied reports that it has agreed to negotiate with the Nigerian government.
It was widely reported on Wednesday that the body had changed its mind about negotiating with the government and had tabled its demands. This is according to a statement reportedly released by Ballantyne Agiri, an alleged spokesman of the group.
But reacting via its Twitter account, the Avengers said this was not so. It also denounced Agiri as its spokesman.
