Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642)


He was born at Pisa in Italy. He began his university career as a medical student but  later forsook medicine  for the study of mathematics and physics.



In the study of mechanic, Galileo disprove wrong assertion by Aristotle Another great scientist that the speed with which a body fell to the ground depended on it mass. He also prove that the planets revolve around the sun, not the earth as people thought at the time.
