Boko Haram Strikes Again, Takes Over 5 Borno Communities
At least five communities of Ladin Buta near Khaddamari village of Jere Local Government Area of Borno state have been taken over and destroyed by suspected members of dreaded boko haram sect who were armed with Ak47 rifles and petrol bombs including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), sources said.
According to Sahara Reporters, Boko Haram insurgents stormed a village of Ladi Butai in Jere LGA of area Borno State, opened fire on villagers at about 9 pm killing, not fewer than 6 people and injured scores others.
Jere Council headquarters is north east and just about 7 km drive from Maiduguri, the state capital.
Commander of Civilian JTF, who does not want his name printed known told Saharareporters that the Boko Haram militants overpowered the CJTF stations in the village and succeeded in killing unarmed villagers.
A fleeing resident Modu Baba told Saharareporters that the insurgents invaded their village last night, but he was lucky to escape to bushes and trekked to Maiduguri.
